How To Change A User's Role

Need to update a user's role in Spinify? Whether you're giving someone admin access or changing a user to a participant or a fan, you can update their license at any time.

Update a User's License and Role

  1. From the left-hand menu, select Team.
  2. Click Users.
  3. Find the user you want to update and click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  4. In the License dropdown, select the appropriate license:
    • Admin
    • Player
    • Fan
  5. In the Role dropdown, select the appropriate role:
    • 👑 Super Admin – Full platform management, including assigning roles
    • 👥 Manager – Manage users and competitions without changing access levels
    • 📣 Marketing – Standard platform access
    • 🏅 Participant – Compete, track progress, and stay engaged
    • 👀 Fan – Follow the action without management permissions
  6. Click Save User.

Note: Users with a "player" licence, can only be allocated "Participant" or "Fan" roles, "fan" licenses can only be allocated a "fan" role.

When Do the Changes Take Effect?

The updated permissions will apply the next time the user signs in to Spinify.

Note: If the user is already logged in, they'll need to log out and sign back in before their new permissions take effect.

Note: If you're a sole admin on your account, you will be able to assign yourself the Super Admin role. However, if there are multiple admins on the account, a user cannot assing themselves a role.
